Exclamation Petition Against "Give me a build, Please" Threads -- They Must STOP!!

This thread is here because of numerous "Give me xxx build" threads that have been massing here lately... (move this if it is in an inappropriate section)

I am so sick of this forum section and many many other forum sections being flooded with typcial, "give me the monk solo build", "give me the w/mo solo build", "give me the best PvP build" threads!! These people are either incredibly lazy, slightly mentally handicap, or are the most spiteful sadistic people evar!

This thread petition suggests that Mods take more active roles/action vs such wasteful and fustrating threads. If 2 to 3 mods were assigned to each forum section, this could work. That way such threads could be deleted asap when a mod sees them.

For the other people who make such threads, LEARN TO THINK! Even if you cant figure it out yourself, its called research. The reason forums are so helpful is cause they hold many many many many many threads on the same topic with which a person can research through to find what they need. How you ask!?!? the little search button at the top right of the forum will point you to the "how". Not bright enough to figure that part out, then just google.

(sorry was kind of rantish, but im tired of trying to research, or simply browse and am forced to scroll through tons of such threads...argh)

While you're ranting, can you give me a good build for a solo monk or a farming tank?

<just kidding>

search button can be so many peoples friend if they would spend the time to use it instead of posting the same threads 9 times a week

I agree they get old seeing so many, but I disagree COMPLETELY with this. This forum is for builds, both posting and asking. If you don't like it, don't use this forum or skip over the "looking for build" ones.

And the "use the search button noob" line is a big copout. Mostly because as this game changes and the new updates/patch's change skills, so do the builds. Half the time, or more, the search will give you a old build that does not work any more. So people are looking for "updated" builds.

So either reply with help on a build, or don't reply at all. It's your fault for looking at the thread and getting so upset over it, not theirs for posting the question.

hmm..ranting against people who cant make a certain build since they might be new or they are new to some type is not helping them learn. i guess the number is increasing, but there are a lot of new players as well and given the fact that the patches changed things, being re-familiarized with the builds they need to ask someone. and where could be the better place to ask but here?and having the mods delete these types of threads will not help these persons excell in their game. just a thought.

Against the basic just give me an awsome pvp build for my monk, warrior... i agree. I mean dont just ask, atleast come up with an idea, id rather help someone with a low class build then juts some guy asking for the aawsome build without putting any thought into it.

although this might be true, it is also a bit annoying when you see the same person make 3 different threads titled:
"hi. i just started a w/mo. i need a tank build please."
"hi. i just started a monk. i need a solo build please."
"hi. i just started an e/r. i need a nuker build please."

and within their thread is nothing but them wanting someone to post a build for them.

i think what batou is asking is for people like this to use a little bit of thought before posting. there are tons of builds posted, and i'm sure that they can find a few ideas by doing a search by themselves.

also, it is a lot better to show that you have already made some sort of effort and just want advice from more experienced players. that is why posts like:

***
hi, i have my attributes set up as follows:
leetness - 12
uber - 9 + 1
pwnsauce - 8 + 1

my skills are xxxxx.

what do you think of it? can anyone give me suggestions about what i should change to be a more effective uberleet pwner?
***

will always be better than:

***
hi. can somebody post the uberleet solo pwner build?
***

it's always good to have people help each other with builds, but the least they can do is show some type of effort. they get out of it what they put in. they can't really just expect to have people do all the hard work for them. it's not really improving their game much if they don't learn about the skills themselves and just randomly use any build posted for them.

If Striderkaaru's post wasn't so long I would quote it and put "Quoted for truth" below it.

Gogo search button? There are lots of people that think of and post different/modified builds on forums, which is perfect for someone looking for a certain build. Want a W/Mo build? An uberly uber Ranger build? A redundant solo Monk build? Search button to the rescue! Also, you can either copy the build exactly, or you could modify it slightly to your needs. I take people's builds and mess around with them, changing it where ever I see fit. This helps people learn how to create their own builds.

striderkaaru... you are DEAD on the money. I dont care if "noobs" post threads that ask about builds. But when they are the typical... "I WANT TO SOLO, GIVE ME BUILD!" or "WHAT IS UBEREST BUILD?!", and then do not offer any of their own insight or opinions, such as asking for criticism for a current build, then yes they deserve to be deleted.

As striderkaaru said it, im hoping that such a crackdown by mods would encourage such posters to think a bit more before posting. This not only maeks the mod's jobs easier, makes those that are willing to help, MORE willing to help!!! It all SEEMS common sense, but as we all see, it is rarely the case.

it wont GET them to stop posting such threads, but this is to re-iterate to all forum people of such problems, and that action should take place. As i said, it is also to encourage more thought into threads that people create.

Sorry if it initially sounded too harsh...chow

Also, if they're asking for builds but AT LEAST post their stats, role in the fight, weapon, armor, other relavent facts, I think it's fine to ask for a build then...

None of this something for nothing BS...

Posting some type of build that the op has formulated should be fairly mandatory, I'll agree. Work up something, even if it's not great, put a little bit of effort in. Posts of "give me build" definately be wiped off the boards. I don't really think this petition will have any significant impact, but I do agree with the concept.

there aren't always builds that people want that are on these forums that other people use, but there's also people that don't really use any forums so they don't really know what to search for, i've searched for things on these forums before and you get 20 pages of what your looking for but you don't find it
